About Arjun Chawla

Hey there! My name is Arjun Chawla, and I am a current Master’s Candidate in Georgetown University’s Communication, Culture & Technology program. Academically, I have an interest in technology policy and political science. I am interested in how governments regulate technology as it innovates. Additionally, I am interested how the political arena leverages new technologies to further their agendas and connect with the public. After immersing myself in the curriculum at Georgetown University centered around these topics, I have been given the privilege to co-author an article alongside Dr. Diana Owen and my peers. Outside of the classroom I love sports and have been boxing for almost three years!

After six years of working at Oracle Corporation in technology sales, technology is at the foundation of my professional agenda. At the company I have been immersed in the Software as a Service (SaaS) landscape as well as exposure to the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and on-premise software. I have taken on individual contributor roles in business development, inside sales, account management and field sales. In each role, I have achieved great success. Further, I have also led a team of 17 business development representatives at the maximum headcount and 11 at the lowest to great success as well, achieving 104% in our first full quarter after I created the team post Oracle’s acquisition of a new product set. As I look forward and curate my professional agenda, I want to take my learnings in SaaS and move into the IaaS and PaaS space at companies such as Google and Amazon Web Services in product management roles.

Alongside my professional endeavors I have an interest in curating my academic agenda as well. Engaged in programs such as Georgetown University’s Apprenticeship for Teaching, I want to explore teaching assistant opportunities at Georgetown University and explore Ph.D. programs at Georgetown University and beyond as well.

As I plan for the future with these academic and professional agendas in mind, I want to continue my global tour and move to London, United Kingdom. Since I was a child, I have been moving to new countries and embracing new cultures. I was born in Reston, Virginia and since then I have moved to Michigan, India, Singapore, New York, Massachusetts, California and Washington, D.C. I want to continue to explore new areas and hope to move to London, United Kingdom next.

This website is a great channel to follow my work, and I am always available for a conversation in person or on video conferencing platforms! My contact information is available in the ‘About’ page of this website. Looking forward to connecting!
